  IBM LTO 5 LTFS formating error

  Hi,

  I want to use LTFS, but I get a format media error when I try to format an IBM LTO5 tape.

  When I insert a tape and go to the drive, a small yellow upside-down triangle “!” appears to the right of the icon. When I right click and go to format, it says “Please Wait While Medium is being Formatted” and then an error pops up saying “LTFS60201E Drive Interface Call Format Returned Error 4318 Win 32=4318”.

  I also ran a test with the IBM Tape Diagnostic Tool (ITDT), but the result was “PERFORMANCE FAILED”. However, I purchased the LTO5 tape brand new. I executed “Firmware Update” on ITDT, but the result was “INVALID MICROCODE”. How can I solve this?

  If you know of any solution, please provide it.

  Windows 11 home (64 Bit)

  IBM Ultrium LTO 5 (46X6681) Internal

  HBA – ibm m5015 megaraid 9260-8i
