    Hello!

Like I said i would like to up grade my ram from 4gb to 8gb. I have a Macbook pro mid 2012, OS X, 15 inch, 2.3 GHz, intel i7, 4gb ram. I do a lot of video editing and ever since i upgraded to OS X my computer has slowed down. I think more ram will solve that.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I have the same year MacBook Pro as you and more memory should definitely help. I have 16GB in mine but even 8GB will be a lot better than 4GB for video editing. I buy all of my upgrade parts from Other World Computing. The 8GB Kit is only $58.00 USD. The 16GB Kit is $111.75 USD. I also put an SSD drive in mine and it made a huge difference in performance.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for suggesting the SSD, I think it is something defiantly could use. Defiantly buying both the items you suggested.

You’re welcome. More memory and an SSD will make a big difference. I know it did for me.

Absolutely, max out your ram as much as you can. And I second the solid state hard drive. I had a 2010 mbp 13 inch on it’s last breath, and upgraded to a solid state hard drive. Now, my computer is faster than it was when it was brand new in 2010. Also, installing new ram is the easiest thing in the world to do. No experience, no problemo.
