I want to zoom out of a photo that I’ve already cropped. How do I do this?
I have a photo that I’ve placed on a moving background on my timeline. I used to pan/crop tool to size the pic down and move it up in the frame so that I can put a title underneath the sized-down photo. So now I have three tracks, three events. Track one has the title, track two has the sized-down photo and track three has the moving computerized background. But what I want to do is zoom into a portion of the photo that’s already been sized down without the photo appearing to get larger in the frame. Is that possible? I’m using Vegas Pro 12.

If I understand what you want to do correctly, you can use Track Motion to position the photo instead of Pan/Crop, then you can use Pan/Crop to zoom without the photo physically getting larger because the size is being controlled by Track Motion.

Don’t ever use track motion to zoom into media (like photos) which are higher quality (more pixels) than what you plan to use for your render. The problem is that when using track motion, all media is first converted to project resolution and then zoomed.Use pan/crop instead. When zooming with pan/crop, all media is sampled at its original resolution and then zoomed. Track motion must operate as it does because there is no way to ensure that all media on the track is the same resolution.

Those quotes are correct Steve. That why I suggested that Rick make it smaller with Track Motion and zoom with Pan/Crop.

I’ve thought about it, but I copied liberally from various forums and even from Sony and I don’t want to get in trouble with anyone over plagiarism. Besides that it isn’t well organized.
