    Hi
I made this transition for a video which will be played in my friends’ wedding.
I tried to color key the green Bg out in FCP but I’m losing the details.
I’m sure there’s a way to export animation with transparent BG from AE?
i think that’s what video copilots doin with their DVD series.
I have tried exporting quicktime movie with Animation codec / Millions of colors+ but its still showing the green on the quicktime players.
    Please let me know ASAP
    I really appreciate it=)

Do what Dave said and don’t forget to delete your green solid from your timeline. Use the “Toggle Transparency Grid” (located in the Compostion window to the left of the “Active Camera” pulldown) to make sure it’s just transparent behind the transition you created. If you see the gray and white squares, that means it’s transparent behind your comp.

Also you may wanna start using one of the free scripts out there for sending your FCP timelines to AE. Everything will be ported over except for transitions. I use one from I believe Popcorn Island. It does what Automatic Duck does without the return trip feature of AE=>FCP, but hey it was free. How I lived without I’ll never know; it has definitely increased the speed of my work multifold. I like the Popcorn one because they have a simple video tut on using the script. I was intimidated at first at the thought of using XML, but it’s so easy, again how’d I live w/o it. I love XML now and couldn’t survive without it. I can probably open FCP 6 projects in FCP 1 using XML it’s so beautiful.
