So I don’t know a thing about scripts.

I have a few things I use in all the videos I’m making right now. A circle shape layer with a popup expression, a solid with a path and stroke effect, and a text layer with an animator. I use them as callouts for some informational videos I’m making.
I’d like to set up something to automate this set of layers so I don’t have to build them each time. I can modify them from some sort of generic form by moving the circle, path points and retyping the text, but I’d love to find a quicker way to make them.
I was sent here from the AE Basics forum. What do you think guys?
I’m on an Intel Mac with CS3

    Thanks

It sounds like a pretty ambitious first scripting project, but everything you want to do is doable. Working with shape layers is a little tricky, and you sort of have to create your own documentation, but again, doable.

Dive in – holler if you get stuck.

Best off googling scripting in After Effects and having a look at some resources. Read the adobe documentation probably and make a start on it then post here if you’re stuck on any particular part.

Sounds like a good idea. I’ll start there.
