    Hello
I have tried a ton of different programs on converting to Mpeg4 format. My clients wanted .mts files converted to Mpeg4 format.
I decided with my own research, that Sony Vegas mpeg4 sony avc format was the best out there.
    I use sony avc,16:9 high def, 29.97

    It just runs very smooth.
Just thought I would share that.

I agree. I have a 1920 x 1080 60p camera and Vegas will edit these native .mts files with a costum project preset and render presets. I can even render a 1080 60p mp4 and .WMV with it, It’s just shy of the quality of the same in .WMV files. The MP4s are not quite as smooth during playback. They speed up and slowdown just a tiny bit where the 60p .WMV dont. CS5 After Effects can do this a well, but the learning curve there is alot steaper than Vegas. Danny Hays

I agree too. I see people always fighting with WMV renders and DivX/Xvid renders and I can’t understand why they want to use those old outdated formats. AVC/h.264 is the new high quality / low bitrate format and Vegas Pro has an outstanding AVC/h.264 encoder in the Sony AVC format. Thanks for confirming.

Is the AVC/h264 format only in Vegas 10? I am running 9.0e and cannot find it in the “render as” tab.
    Thanks, Robert

The Sony AVC and MainConcept AVC are both AVC/h.264 codecs and have been in Vegas for several versions now.
