I think 10.5.3 update killed my Caldigit!
Posted by Ian Lamb on June 4, 2008 at 3:32 amAnyone else have the same problem? After updating Leopard, all my media stored on our HDPro glitches all over the place on playback. Copied a few clips to the local storage and playback is fine. Arg.

June 4, 2008 at 3:45 amThere’s a Caldigit forum here you might get a faster answer that way.

June 4, 2008 at 3:51 amDidn’t know there was a caldigit forum here… good to know! Just read that first post. I had to re-install FCS2 and ran the usual software upgrade for studio not realizing there was a system software upgrade at the same time. It was probably right in front of my face too..
Doh!
thanks,

June 4, 2008 at 4:47 amThey are working on it and should have a patch this week. I am playing back footage fine but when I go to render FCP 6.0.2 the program hangs and I have to do a hard shutdown. The trick is to only render tiny bits at a time and hit the escape key save and option+r in tiny amounts and save until you are very close to the render being complete…. this doesn’t give it time to hang on what Cal digit calls a bad kernal with the new leopard install. This is working for me on the render hangs….
