There’s a posting earlier about this that Edward’s already answered, but I must be doing something wrong.

I’m having the same problem making text “zoom” between a small, then larger, font size. Edward’s reply is fairly simple and straightforward- I understand. Yet I still can’t get a smooth, zooming-style transition between keyframes. The text just snaps to the new size when it hits the next keyframe. Is there a global setting that needs switching? It’s like the two keyframes need to be linked somehow.
    Cheers for any help.

[Bag] ” The text just snaps to the new size when it hits the next keyframe.”

Sounds like you have your keyframe interpolation set to ‘hold’. Right-click on the keyframe and set it to ‘linear’ or one of the others.

Make the text size the LARGE size. Now use “Pan/Crop” or “Track Motion” to resize the text. DO NOT use multiple keyframes in the text media generator and change the text between the keyframes.

Thanks Edward, I figured this out eventually but the result was quite blurred… however, I’m guessing that’s because I didn’t have that LARGE size to begin with.
The basic text tool does have scaling as well, which achieved something (the third party plug-ins don’t).
However, you’ve basically answered my question- multiple keyframes in the text generator don’t do the trick.
Thanks- thought I was going nuts.

    Cheers, Graeme.

Also, if you truly want a ‘linear’ zoom and not one that speeds up at the beginning and slows at the end you need to set the smoothness at 0 not 100.
