    i set my project to 25p and have edited footage from animations generated on a computer, all of which are progressive frame, but whenever i output a rendered video file or image seq avid interlaces it! can anyone tell me why?

    Are you saying that a TIFF sequence of files show up as interlace? ALL of your footage is progrssive? And you are sure you are in a 25p project?
