I need help using the camera to capture
Hey guys,
I used the campus JVC GY-HD200 camera for a shoot. I had to shoot to tape because the firestore was already in use by someone else. So now I have this 720 tape, but an SD deck… so could someone walk me through how to use the camera as a deck with FCP… what cables do I need and what do I tell FCP so that it can communicate with the camera?

Before hooking up the camera, open FCP and change the Easy Setup to HDV 720p30. Close FCP and shutdown your computer. With the camera and your computer off, connect a FireWire cable between the camera and your computer. Power on the camera and switch it to playback mode. Power on your computer, then open FCP. You should now be able to open your capture dialog and proceed as usual.
