I Mac G5 Oddity
When in final cut I see either a check marlk at the top of the canvas or a yellow exclamation mark that I think denotes a warning. Can anyone help me with this?

It’s called Range Check. In the canvas, in the right hand pulldown menu (of the 3 pulldown menus) unchecking “Show Excess Luma” will toggle it off.
View Menu>Range Check> has options, too.
Control-Z toggles it as well.
