May 8, 2006 at 12:36 pmHi there
Try it..
In Photoshop CS2 create a new empty layer and merge it to the layer with the shadow. Save it and open it in After Effects…
It should work, it does work with any blending effects. -

May 8, 2006 at 1:45 pmIt will work in any version of photoshop if you make the shadows into a layer. You can committ most filters to their own seperate layer. If you’re using photoshop cs, when you add a drop shadow to a text layer for example you right click on the filter listed in your layers pallete and hit create layer. It will tell you that some effects don’t translate over but shadows will. I personally like to duplicate my layer and fill it with black and add a blur to that. Gives me more control over the appearance I think. Try that.

May 8, 2006 at 2:02 pmHi All,
Thank you for your interest in my issue,
BUT it is not exactly my problem : i’ill try to explain :In After Effects 7 i have a 3D scene in which i’ve put layers in 3D mode, then lights that cast shadows,
layers react to lights, cast shadows on other layers and so on,
in fine I have a beatifull sceene in After Affects that I want Export & Save in Photoshop layered file ….BUT when i open saved file from AE7 in Photoshop CS2 I get all scenery I saw in AE 7
BUT WITHOUT SHADOWS !!!!I hope this time my explanation is better to describe my problem,
Looking foreward for any help
Best Regards
