I liked the color panel as it was, rather than an effect (pre 10.2)
Posted by Tangier Clarke on April 14, 2015 at 4:12 amJust wondering if anyone misses the color panel without it as an effect; just at the ready. I found myself in Looking at the Lumetri Color Board in the new Premiere Pro CC (interesting how these Premiere boards or tabs are looking to emulate the FCP X panels) I now wish Color Finale was baked right into FCP X. I am sure there are some unrealized benefits to it being an effect now and I’ll get used to that, but for me it seems like a step backwards in my workflow.

one big advantage of making the color corrector an effect is that you can now change the render order.

April 14, 2015 at 4:28 amHeads up! I applied a color effect to a clip on one computer earlier today then brought the entire library home and opened it on the same new FCP X 10.2 on my laptop, and the color is baked in. It does not show up as an effect so I can’t make further changes. That’s scary.

April 14, 2015 at 4:11 pmCurious… what happens if you apply a Color effect to one of those clips on the laptop?
Do you see the values entered on the original machine? Additionally, what happens if you then disable it?

Does anyone know a shortcut that would let you add a second Color Correction effect? Command-6 works for one, but then you have to manually drag a new one on top of the clip from the effect browser to add a second instance. I wish it still had that + button.

April 14, 2015 at 9:41 pmYeah, and I don’t like how the shape and color mask buttons only appear if you roll over the color effect bar. I was looking all over for them and found them by accident. Such a strange choice to hide them like that.

“There’s an “Add Correction” drop down at the top of every color box.

April 15, 2015 at 2:19 pmAhh. Would have made more sense in the effect stack then the actual Color Board. Or at least have the option there also, but I’ll take it.
