I know clip duration is here somewhere
When a trimmed clip is on on the timeline, how do I see out how long it is? I know there must be a preference, or a hidden window, or a key command that tells me the length of a selected clip…right? And yes, I could figure it out from the timecode, but I am not the best at arithmetic.
So, apart from grabbing the end of the clip and pulling, where do I find the duration of a trimmed clip?Thanks

You can see clip duration with the “I” button on the Color page (far right just under the thumbnails).

Isn’t that the total length of the clip? I was playing with that after reading the OP’s question, and no matter how short or long I made the clip on the timeline, the duration stayed the same when I clicked the “I” button.

I think if you “X” to mark the clip, the in/out duration is displayed above the monitor….isn’t it?

Sorry, Glenn, I’m not following you. I see the duration in the “info” box in the lower right, but as I said, it doesn’t change when I lengthen or shorten the clip so I’m assuming it’s showing the length of the entire, untrimmed clip.

You could press CMD-D (or I guess ctrl-D on windows) to bring up the clip duration dialog box. It’s there to change the duration, but also it shows it.
