I have some party footage that music was so loud, bass is distorted must fix A.S.A.P. HELP
Posted by Sebastian Knight on June 10, 2006 at 3:28 amI need to fix some footage that is good except audio was so loud bass has major distortion when listening to it. In the event it can not be repaired, I need to at least get it so it is not so noticeable. I am open to any and all suggestions.

June 10, 2006 at 12:03 pmDistorted audio is just that, distorted audio and not a whole heckuva lot you can do about it. Find a good sound designer or audio production facility and take it to them to look at.

June 12, 2006 at 2:03 amHad similar audio need, but mine was with “off mic” voices recorded in a church for a wedding video. Very Hollow. I’m new to FCp so just did some
‘playing’ with the audio filters. Bottom line, I was able to “improve the quality” but not make it good. I’m a “video guy” so unfortunately, my audio skills are a bit
lacking. FCP does have lots of filters, and they do work, hum reducer, eq, and frequeny all work really well, but whenever we all have time to “play/experiment”, that can be a great teacher.Quad G5, 16gb ram, 2 X G-Tech external F800 drives

June 12, 2006 at 2:04 pmFCP is ok for minor fixes, but I’ve found that Soundtrack is much better at major fixes. It has a lot more high quality filters. It’s seriously saved by backside a few times!
Of course, if your audio is *real* bad, well you can only do so much.

June 13, 2006 at 7:49 pmhmm…if its a party
find a good version of the song in the background (even if it is live music, it could work ive snced many lived bands to there studio recorded track) sync it up using the waves (if you hear an echo, your not synced) then play with the two levels (your original and the sweet sounding master)
if you do it right, it could work well..
also, hum remover works wonders.
