So I had about 16gb of MTS files shot on SDHC cards (AVCHD). I tried log and transfer and it took up too much memory space in FCP7. So instead I used ClipWrap and converted the files to ProRes. I pulled those files into FCP7… it will let me drag one clip to the timeline but if I try and drag another I get either a “general error” or “memory full” box.
So, I now have ProRes files… I also have .mov files that ClipWrap rewrapped for me. Can I use either of those and put them on a DVD?
    I tried iDvd, iMovie HD… I don’t have Imovie 11…
FCP7 has hit many walls and I keep getting a download error for the trail of FCPX…

Did you try, File~import, to bring in the media into FCP?
The prores files will have a .mov extension. They are quicktime.
