Sweet! I haven’t used Samplitude much in many years because I’ve been more focused on real time stereo recording and video editing in Vegas but I’m in the process of re-organizing my studio and getting all the hardware more integrated with a better work flow so I can start composing more seriously and doing multitrack recordings again so I’m hoping there will be some cool integration of Samplitude and Vegas in the near future too! 🙂

If you want to work with captions in Vegas can I suggest you buy a copy of Vegasaur. It is third party software that offers a load of great new features to Vegas including Captions. It is fantastic. It will allow you to import caption files (e.g. SRT), specify the font, format, etc and basically do everything you need very quickly and very easily. I had a project that required extensive caption work and I did a ton of research tring to find some software that would make the work easier for me. In the end, Vegasaur offered everything I needed and I couldn’t have been happier with my purchase. As I said, you also get a ton of other useful tools and features too. Check it out at https://vegasaur.com/Vegasaur. You are free to test it out before deciding to buy. Just to clarify, I have no ties with Vegasaur at all.

One other thing: after I had tested Vegasaur and found that it was perfect for my subtitling needs, I was hesitant to purchase because of the $99 cost. I don’t think it is expensive if you make use of all of the tools and features that Vegasaur offers but I really only wanted it for its subtitling tools, so I emailed them to see if they did a cheaper version that only had the subtitling tools that I needed. They emailed back to say they didn’t but they also gave me a discount code which gave me 50% off the whole package. I couldn’t believe it! As it has turned out, I now use Vegasaur for a number of its tools and it is one of the best software purchases I have ever made. I can’t imagine using Vegas without it now.

There is a YouTube video created by someone that shows you how the subtitling in Vegasaur works – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb0lRbxYA-I

Great news. Steer them away from ever going subscription based and they can keep my business for decades to come.

    This is really good news!!!
John, any way we can let them know what we would appreciate in future versions of software? Like a specific forum/etc?

Thanks so much for all your input over the years!

[Scott Francis] “any way we can let them know what we would appreciate in future versions of software? Like a specific forum/etc?”

They are currently determining what to do about forums. SCS has given MAGIX a copy of the current Sony forums and user information. I guess it’s up to MAGIX to figure out what to do with that now. There is already a thread on the internal SCS forums about feature request. Feel free to start one here. The MAGIX development team reads these forums on the COW so you have their ear right here.
