September 22, 2011 at 10:26 amHeyas… I know this is a super-old thread… but I just came across this problem… and as the last response said, its not as big a deal as it seems.
Fortunately I found that the only reason I couldn’t render it was because it was a JPG. When I saved the image from Photoshop as TIFF instead – all was resolved.
I also found that FCP changes the colour to RGB if its CMYK, so copy and paste image into a new file that is RGB, and you get to keep your colours the way they are. Hooray.

May 9, 2012 at 6:30 amLame! I’ve been editing, dropping jpegs onto a time line above the video, had the “green” render bar above them for the first third of the project, now all of a sudden, anytime I drop any of the same jpegs to the timeline I get not a green bar, but red. I haven’t left the computer for the last 4 hours when all this has transitioned, so it is a bit bizarre.
Maybe time to reboot the mac? Who knows. I haven’t made any changes in the sequence settings, so this is odd.
