We are finishing a film, and I need some gret reverb for dialouge.
The standard reverb with ProTools LE and FCP is horrible.

It is for a narration track so it need to be subtle and beautiful. You hear this all the time on Industry soundtracks and CDS with narration

    Thanks

If it would work in FCP and as well as PT that;s a plus

There are many reverb plugins on the market that will work with FCP or ProTools.
As well as rackmount hardware reverbs. It all depends on your budget.

I’m a bit courious as to, in what way you feel that the standard RTAS reverb plugin that ships with ProTools LE is “horrible”???

Maybe horrible is a bit strong.

I just bought a CD that Disney produced with Christmas Readings on it. Each track is a celebrity narrating without music.
Te reverb is subtle and elegant.

I also record narrations. I have a number of nice mics, but I usually use my Blue Blueberry or U87. I alway use my Focusrite Red 7 pre, and record directly into my Digi002.

My weak link has always been reverb – standard PT ‘verb just doesnt cut it.

Since I posted, I dowmloaded the trail verion of Waves IR — which is a huge jump up.

    Other suggestions??

I assume that you are creating an aux track in ProTools,
and are just mixing in the proper amount of reverb needed with the reflection of your choosing?

Waves makes nice stuff, I use a bunch of their plugins.

Want the same quality reverb used on the Disney stuff,
then look into a TC Electronic System 6000.

    Good Luck!

I actually have a TC box that we use for our live stuff. It’s not the 6000! It was about 1000 as I recall.

Just wondering if you know of a product that is amazing for the price.

You’re right about the Aux sends with PT.

    I’ve also looped external hardware

Depends on what your deffinition of amazing for the price is.
I use assorted plugins including the Waves Diamond bundle, Altiverb from Audio Ease, TC Powercore,
as well as others, which are AU or VST aside from the RTAS stuff that works with ProTools LE,
as I only use PT LE on a limited basis, and do most of my high end stuff in Digital Performer.

I would download a demo or two, and buy what works for your needs.

    Good Luck!

I’m going to guess that much of that “great reverb” is Epcot’s outdoor “America Gardens Theatre’s” natural ambience.
