August 15, 2008 at 4:29 pmI have exactly the same issue. I’m am busy making a frag movie for my clan, and was rendering to see how my intro looked in high quality. When it was finished I check it out, and the SOME of the video files were missing. Some video managed to appear, but other footage was missing. What I noticed is that the text I put over the video files did show up in the video. I would largely appreciate some help,
thanks,

August 15, 2008 at 10:17 pmSounds like you used the text with a solid color background instead of a transparent background.

August 16, 2008 at 10:00 amNope that wasnt it. Managed to solve the problem by putting up the rendering fps to 30+. The problem now is that when i play the preview/rendered version, a strange problem occurs which causes 1 frame from a recently edited piece to rapidly flash into and out of view when playing the entire clip, eventhough most of the clip does not contain that single frame. Real strange.

September 8, 2010 at 2:16 pmHi! I had exactly the same problem but without the restoring of factory settings. Mine was fixed after I realised that my original footage was ntsc format and I was trying to render out to PAL. Changed it to render to ntsc and it works fine now. I plan to convert my footage to pal using virtualdub.

May 15, 2014 at 9:00 amI have had this issue, what i was doing was shooting video with the iphone and editing and trying to render to mpeg or avi.
It wont allow this so what you need to do is change the input video tomatch whatever output you want. So in my case i used “Any Video Converter” as its free and will do all formats, well most and converted my footage that was shot in .mov to .mpeg then i added it to vegas and my edited clip and rendered to .mpeg and all worked great.
