    hello folks~
i’m working with hdv files and having trouble seeing the files.

1.i can’t see the image when i’m capturing from my camera (sony v1u)
-but i have no problem seeing and editing it when i drag it to the timeline

2.my quicktime 7 pro doesn’t recognize the file. it’s just a mov file.
and when i drag the file into mpeg streamclip it only plays the sound not the image.

3.lastly, as a last resort, i tried the m2t files on mpeg streamclip and on my old g5 it worked just fine but i recently got macpro and it keeps saying that i need to get the mpeg2 component. i don’t know why it’s doing it when i transfered all the information from my g5.

    i really appreciate your help.

    thanks

You might try copying all of the QuickTime components from your G5 to the Mac Pro again. They are located in the Library/QuickTime folder.

You didn’t mention what version of FCP you’re using. If it’s earlier than 5.1, it’s not universal for the Intel processors. That would explain your problems.
