I have run into a very strange problem… Apparently the last time I fired up PI, it was on an external monitor. When I fired it up again, it was ‘lost’ off in monitor space I didn’t have. OK… after diddling for a bit, I went off and found an available extra monitor, plugged it in, and there was PI. But now, the window is too big (for the external or my laptop monitor), and I can’t see the window sizing corner thingy on the bottom right that would allow me to zoom the app window down to a friendly size.

So two questions: What can I do to convince PI to not show up on a monitor that isn’t attached, or conversely to come on back to the main window, and, how do I get the window to zoom to a point where I can resize it ?

Man I feel dumb… PI user since 1.0, Mac owner for years. Look at me… Pathetic…

Sorry I didn’t reply earlier — must have missed this one.

I think deleting the preferences file is the way to go.

On Windows, use the Start – Programs – particleIllusion 3.0 – “reset default settings” option (may be in “troubleshooting” menu)

On Mac, delete the following file:
    / Library / Preferences / pIllusion3.prefs
