I’m trying to create Star Wars style hyperspeed lines in Motion or After Effects for a composites heavy live action Anime project I’m putting together. I found a great tutorial on how to create them in Photoshop here https://www.tutorialjungle.com/display.php?t=hyperspeed. How can I do something along the same lines in Motion or After Effects that moves towards the radius to create the illusion of speed. I’m not really a motion graphics guy, I’m just director who cuts and knows a little here and there to get by.

Have you tried slit scan or slit tunnel?

I have but it doesn’t look like the hyper speed effect I need. Slit scan tunnels always look like the opening credits of 70’s Doctor Who. If I could just create a radial blur or a glow to create the hyperspeed lines and make the move in toward the radius at high speed I could get it down. Or if I could take solid hot white lines lined up in perspective and make them a behavior that races back towards a radius. Like Star Wars or Next Gen Star Trek.
