HyperDeck Studio Ethernet Connection
It was great to see that 3.8 has an Ethernet protocol for the HyperDeck Studio. I updated software of my Windows 7 Pro machine, and updated the firmware of the HyperDeck unit. I was able to navigate through the menus and setup the IP info. However, the actual Ethernet port itself appears to be inactive – no link lights, and I cannot ping it. Any suggestions?

Are you running through a switch or direct connect?

A switch. I have 8 units that are doing this (all set to different static IP addresses), and I have talked to tech support who doesn’t seem to be having the same problem with their unit. So I am shipping one back to Blackmagic for evaluation/repair. I have made sure that the static IP set on the unit and my PC have the same domain. I am not successful with pinging the Hyperdeck or telnet (with HyperTerminal) on port 9993 or 23.

Are you able to pull network info from any of the units? How are you setting the IP address for each unit?

The only way I can get any network info from the units is from the Ethernet menu. That is how I set the Static IP, Subnet Mask and Gateway as well.

Do you connect via USB at that point?

No. The only thing I have used USB for is to load new firmware to the Hyperdeck and set the recording format.
