Posted by Bernie Ageeb on July 8, 2011 at 1:00 amHow close is the image from the HXR-NX70U to the NX5? Can you tell the difference?

July 9, 2011 at 6:58 pmNot much difference outside in good light but a big difference in low light situations. The NX70 does not come close to the NX5.

July 9, 2011 at 7:07 pmHi Michael,
I have a great on camera light, if i put that on my the nx70, my indoor image should be clear no grain?Bernard

July 11, 2011 at 9:33 amYou’ll just have to test it but, generally speaking, you’ll still see more noise and grain in the blacks using the nx70 than you’ll see with the nx5u. Outside in bright daylight is the only time the images will look nearly equal. Inside, even with an on-camera light, the nx5u is going to look better.

December 7, 2011 at 11:49 pmI sent back for refund two NX70s. I had hoped the first one was defective. It was not, the problem is a design flaw. The NX70 is based on the consumer CX700V optics and engine. There are major problems with chromatic aberration and poor focus in different areas of the image. My CX550V had a better image!
I am bitterly disappointed. The NX70 on paper was perfect.
I cannot live with crappy image quality!
Some examples of the problem here:
