  • HVX200a error when recording.

Posted by Brad Sherman on July 20, 2010 at 8:34 pm

Problem shooting with my HVX200a to 16 and 32gb cards. Shooting HD when the screen goes to “Micon Error” two shoots in a row. Was able to complete both shoots in SD to tape. I had this error once before and reformatting the only card I had at the time seemed to solve it for a year.

All three incidents happened while shooting in the sun on 90 degree plus days so I thought it might be a heat problem and would test it in the air conditioned office.

Now when testing at the office, the cam records for four minutes or so and then “system error rec ram overflow” appears, cam locks up and must remove battery to stop it. Happens every time now with either card mounted. (shooting 1080 60i)

Have seen many posts about “micon error” when offloading cards, but none when shooting. Anyone have an idea about what is going on?

Is the firmware up to date?

If so, might be time to send it in for service.
