  HVX200 Rookie – 24p v 24pn

  Hello. I’m shooting tomorrow morning (!) for the first time with the new 200. Choosing a format for acquisition tops my long list of questions I’m puzzling over. Hoping someone else out there is burning the midnight oil…

  For this project I’m shooting SD (to minimize need for swapping P2 cards, and also because I’m editing on FCP with the AJA io which does not support HD)

  I know want the look of 24p. The question is whether to shoot 720/24p or 720/24pn.

  What are the pros and cons of shooting native, other than saving P2 space by shooting 24pn. Will I be OK editing on FCP using either of these? Which would you use?

  Any other advice re: best/safest setup options (ie: to use “cine-like” mode or not) would be much appreciated. (I’ve been reading the posts on this site and learning a lot there too — thank you!)

  I can tell this is going to be a wonderful camera to use…just wish I had a day to play before rolling “for real.” Oh well… here goes nothin’.
