I’m using 3D tracking software on my HVX200 footage and have no idea what the Back Plate dimensions (called in Syntheyes) or Film Back dimensions (called in Bojou) is/are. Part of making a good track is being able to find this info out. Anybody have any idea and or experience tracking this footage?
    thanks,

We got good results in Boujou without this info, but it should be 1/3″ diagonally, like all the rest in this class. More exact dimensions might be hard to find in a manual, but you can use Phytagoras and the fact that it’s 16:9 to find out…

    thanks Uli,
so it is referring to the size of the Chip? i didn’t even know what it was referring to.

Since you said you got good tracking on your HVX footage can i ask you your camera settings in the Boujou camera dialogue? My footage always imports looking “Squished”. Not proper aspect somehow, but i don’t know how to change it.

The default camera settings that boujou opens for me when i import a 720p clip is/are:

Film Back- Width .79213 and Height .59349 (Units: inches)
Resolution: 985×738 (This is not changeable in this window. it seems like this would fix my problem but i can’t find where to adjust it).
Ratio: 1.3347 (also can’t find where to adjust)
    Pixel Aspect: 1
    Frame Rate: 24
    Lens Squeeze ratio: 1

any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks,
    jeff
