My issue is trying to use my HVX200 as a deck in FCP. I am connected firewire to my g4 and am using FCP 5, not 5.1. When I go to the capture window it immediately shuts down FCP. Does anyone have any ideas about something I’m missing here. I have never had this problem in the past.
Could it be a setting in the camera. FCP doesn’t even seem to be recognizing the camera itself, but it is recognizing that a firewire device is connected.
    Any help?

    Thanks,

    Ben

The HVX200 is a very flexible and therefore very complex device. Some formats (native) don’t even stream over FW, for others you have to get your settings straight. Plus, FCP 5.1.2 has improved a lot on MXF, the native format from the HVX200.

Tell us a bit more about your setup:

    Which format did you shoot?
What’s the playback setup in the camera?
Which settings did you use in FCP?

    Regards,

    Uli
