I was recently shooting some table-top using a Century Optics achromatic diopter on the HVX 200. Zooming out from full telephoto on the fixed lens, I noticed a focal shift that I would normally refer to as a back focus problem. I removed the diopter and checked again, and found the same thing. I cross checked this on a second HVX that we had on the shoot, and found the same problem. One technician mentioned a possible chip mis-alignment, which can be fixed. Panasonic says, “ship it to us and we will look it over.” I’m hoping to avoid the costs and down time with Panasonic if this ends up being an uncorrectable camera design defect. Anyone have a similar problem?

    Any help appreciated,

I have the same problem. My cameraman spotted them three times during our shoot within a week and that was our first outing. We send our set to Panasonic in Malaysia and they couldnt find the solution. Problem is, the shift doesnt occur everytime and i was told that they switch on the camera for a long time and wait for the shift but it just doesnt happen.

    I am still waiting.
