HVX 201 versus AG-AF100
I’m toying with the idea of trading up my HVX 201 (PAL) and going for an AG-AF100.
Just wondering if there’re any opinions from people who’ve used both, is one clearly better than the other?
What’s it like editing from the SDX cards as opposed to P2 and Firestore?
Are there any particular things I might miss if I trade to an AG?
And any other general comments would be much appreciated.

SDHC as a workflow is a lot cheaper and simpler than P2. Then again, AVCHD is not as good as DVCPROHD. To be honest the AF100 could not be more different as a camera than the HVX though. If you are looking for a one-lens fits all run and gun documentary camera- the HVX is what you want. If you want to heavily invest in a variety of lenses and have much greater control over depth of field in your cinematography- you want the AF100.

Thanks Noah, that’s what I thought, I guess I was hoping to hear, it’s just as good and cheaper with a choice of lenses.
Think I’ll be sticking with the HVX till I can afford around the £10-15k mark, then maybe it’ll be worth an upgrade.
