To those of you working with the Panasonic HVX200… how are you monitoring the HD streams on an HD monitor? Are you using an Apple Cinema Display… if so with what hardware? If you’re using a Broadcast HD monitor (CRT or LCD) what hardware are you using to connect it to Mac G5 (Decklink, Kona2, etc.)

    Hi Mitch:

Dell 2405 with the Kona 3 and BMD HDLink HD/SDI to DVI converter. I would like to buy the new Panasonic 17″ HD LCD monitor but have too many other items so we will see how the Dell works out. Obviously not for color correction but for editing, it should suffice.

    Best,

Black Magic Decklink HD to HD link to 23″ cine display. It’s a great low cost monitor setup. Some people rip it on these forums but it works. Panny’s new 17″ mon is my next step but till then I’m ok.

I’ve had a chance to work with the Pannasonic 17″… it is great. I’m definitely getting one. A 26″ is in the offing, but the 17″ is also great for field work as well, so it may be more multi-purpose than the 26″ Panny did a hell of a job with this 17″… it’s the first LCD I have been happy with for HD…
