    Good afternoon all,

Any recommendations for an on-board light for my HVX-200? I was looking at the Anton Bauer ElightZ and was wondering if anyone has used it? I know the kit also includes a 10K battery as well as a horseshoe handheld grip.

    Many thanks!

If you are looking for something light (pun intended) and dont want to have a bunch of wires hanging off the camera attached to a battery on your belt, then take a look at the Vidled’s. They have a small rechargable battery that is mounted to the light and the whole thing is very light and bright. When I got mine I turned it on and 3 hours later it was still bright. It finally died at 3 hours 20 minutes.

A light light is alright if the beam is not too tight. Otherwise anything at the edges are gonna be outta sight.

Some say I’m a lousy poet but that’s just a bum rap.

I just started using a VidLED and the color of the daylight lamp is a nice match for sunlight. It’s a bit dim for daylight fill at most distances, but I was looking to use it for early morning hours when a tungsten fill would be the wrong color.

I’m also planning to use it during daylight just to give the eyes a bit of sparkle and, hopefully, to provide a bit of fill in the shadows if the person is wearing a ball cap.

I use a LitePanels LED in the same way Dean is using the VidLED. A bit heavy with the battery attached, but dimmable and comes with a ton of gels to match almost any light source. I prefer the flood to the spot for use as a camera light.
