  HVX-200: color space in the composite output

  Hi all:

  Tomorrow I have a shoot (using the HVX-200) where we’ll be working in HD (1080p), but the production people have only managed to get us a SD monitor (a Sony PVM-9020, if you must know), which only has composite inputs. I’m obviously worried about accurate color monitoring, specially considering that HD and SD-PAL have different color spaces, but after doing some testing today, I didn’t really see much difference between the camera’s EVF and the monitor. I’m assuming that, when downconverting and sending the signal through the composite output, the camera also performs the necessary color space conversion, so that the colors that we see in the monitor are trustworthy (even if it’s a SD monitor showing a downconverted HD picture). Am I right?
