Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras hvx 200 1080i 24 P — how do i make this progressive?

Hi, I shot stock footage for a client on the Panasonic HVX200. The client requested that I shoot it with
the 1080/24p format, which on that camera it is called 1080i/24p. (I did NOT shoot it on 1080i/24padvanced) The client’s editor downloaded the footage off the P2 cards (I downloaded a safety copy of directly off of the P2 card of my own)

The client called me and said that the footage was not 24P and that they can’t use it.

I know this is a common problem. (I also have the HVX book by Barry Green which explains that on the HVX200, the 1080i/24p format has 24 progresive frames embedded in the 60 interlace video screen and that these can be retrieved in post production)

How do I explain to the client’s editor that the 1080/24P footage is indeed there and how they can retrieve it?

    Thanks

They have to do a reverse telecine. Compressor offers this as an option which can be done in batches with the proper setup, or you can remove the pulldown clip by clip in Cinema Tools.
