    Hi
First time working with hdv, captured from a sony v1 shot in 25p mode…

I have lots of questions I can’t seem to find answers for…

I’m having a hard time finding out information about how exactly do I get the true progressive signal recorded as 50i.
I’ve noticed that if I try to use a 25p project in premiere, the footage in the time line appears un-rendered (red bar).
This does not happen in a 50i project.
But if I work in a 50i project, does premiere recognize that the footage is in fact 25p or do I need to extract it with something like cineform and than edit in a 25p project?
The 25i project has upper field first as default. is that ok, even though it’s Pal?

Also, when capturing, I can only see the video on the camera lcd monitor and not in the capture window while recording. Is that normal?

Scene detect is also not available in the capture window any more. Is that normal?

I have some very long captured mpeg clips (about 50min), that lose audio video synch somewhere halfway when I play them in Premiere. However in media player they play fine in synch all the way through. any thoughts?

sorry for the long post. any help would be appreciated
    thanks
    jon
