August 26, 2011 at 4:00 pmThen I am assuming that the issue still exists. My cure was switching over to HDV for all my shooting.
Do I remember correctly that there are 2 modes to record DVCam video to the CF card, avi or DV? Have you tried both options?

August 26, 2011 at 4:16 pmIt’s worth a try.
But after re-reading the entire thread looks like I tried that back in 2009 and it didn’t solve the timecode issue. But that was Vegas 9 at the time I posted.

January 26, 2012 at 10:49 pmI shoot with the Sony HVR-S270. Time code clearly shows on the Unit when recording on the camera, however when logging the footage into FCP the timecode is nowhere in display. How do I go about this and get the original timecode from the camera so that I can actually follow my recorded footage without having to go through each clip starting with 00:00:00
All the Best!

You do realize that this is a Vegas forum.
Odds are that you’ll have better luck asking this question in the
FCP forum. -

August 8, 2013 at 4:10 pmI realize this is a very old thread. The solution I should have given you last year was to shoot in HDV mode. When I shoot HDV with my HVR-s270 the time code is fine when imported into FCP. (from the compact flash card. You’ll need clip wrap to assist the importing.)
Not so when I shoot standard def .avi or dv.
Hope this is of benefit to you.
