I’ve read of others having this problem in Final Cut but I can’t find a solution anywhere. I capture from an HV30, to the HDV1080i60 codec, and FCP isn’t splitting up the clips on start/stop. My user prefs are set to create new clip on timecode break, and the box to split clips on start/stop in the capture window is checked. It doesn’t matter is I have the camera in HDV 1080i, 30P, or 24P mode, it still just captures one big chunck. However, if I record something then rewind the tape and record a new shot over part of what I already shot it will create a new clip when the tape rolls from the newest shot to the old shot that is still on the tape. Any ideas?
