  • Hung up after “preparing to display”

Am working with a somewhat large project (373megs) but have been going fine with 2tera external glyph for many months. Now am getting hung up right after “preparing to display”. Media files appear to connect fine. FCP6, mac pro laptop. Anyone have any ideas. Many years into this project and while I’m well backed up, I would like to be able to work from my latest proj file. Thanks everyone. (and yes, I have trashed the prefs, restarted, etc.)

Did you Repair Permissions? Also, I’d run Disk Warrior.

Ran disk warrior and repaired permissions. Just finished copying entire project contents to new drive, but that is not the problem either. Did several tests with file size reduction (by deleting sequences) going down as far as 125 megs, so I dont’ think file size is it either. About to load FCP 7 to see if that will solve it, but I would have rather figured out the issue with current config. Of course no guarantee that the upgrade will solve it. Any thoughts appreciated.
