Huge HiDef files
I shot a talking head with a Sony XD Cam EX-1, set at 1080 60i (16×9). The show, after simple straight-cut editing on Vegas Pro 8, ran 55 minutes. I then tried to render this to AVI, with the intention of making a DVD for the client with DVD Architect 5.0. But the huge file overwhelmed my PC, which terminated the render at about 20 minutes of program time. I tried again last night (these renders take all night), saving the render to an external storage device with 253 Gigs of storage free. This time the render got about 35 minutes into the show. My client is a non-profit, and my budget is picayune. I am trying to figure out how to get this show onto DVD in the least expensive way. Do I have to buy a one or two terabyte storage device, or is there some way I can scale back the hugeness of this HD file without losing picture quality?
Thanks in advance,
Ken
