    Hello,

My enbglish is not perfect so I allready give my excuses if I have made spellingproblems.
My problem is probably the easiest stupide problem ever.

I just started to work with after effects and I learned a lot of tutorials but now I did something and don’t know how to correct it.

With the ellipse tool I drew an ellips. It showed a line around it and the inside was white. I made it flow around and made a path etc…
But when I was starting to animate the ellipse the inside wasn’t white annymore and so I can’t animate the ellips.
I probably hide it or locked it but I don’t know how.

So please just a short response so I can continue, how do I make the inside back white and start animate my ellipse on the inside…

    Hi Cedric,

I might need some more info before I can guess at what’s causing the problem.

When you say ‘animate the ellipse’, what exactly is it that you are animating? That is, the ellipse is presumably made up of a mask on a white solid layer, but are you animating the mask shape, the solid position or the properties of some effect you have added to the solid?

At what point did the ellipse vanish? As soon as you animated whichever property you animated, or when you added an effect, or at some unknown time? Can you ‘undo’ what you did and the ellipse comes back, or are you unable to retrace your steps?

The first possibility could be that you have turned off the eyeball switch for the layer, but it could be many other things too.

I’m not entirely sure when the white solid dissapeared.
I assume it whas when I put an effect on the ellipse, the effect was glow…But I can’t be sure it whas then that it was gone.
But after putting the glow on it I saw nothing happening, just the path and the shape of the ellipse where on the screen. Then I realised it…

And I assume I can’t see the effects that I place up on the ellipse , glow for now, because that white solid is gone.

My goal is to make a blast comming out of my hands. So the path that the ellips has to follow has been allready made and the ball transformes in a beam at the end…

So now it’s just the inside that has to be animated…

When I start the program again and I start a new project, and I make a new ellipse it’s just the shape I draw, no white solid to be found.

Really every assumption you have will be probably a big help. Please just tell me how … :p
Did I still forget to say something? Just ask…

Thanx for the fast response you allready gave me and hope to hear from you soon.
