Huge 300MB project files
Hi guys,
I’m working on a project, a 15 minute film and the project sizes are getting huge, so all the autosaves are huge and its also crashing quite a lot (and I think this is why).
It has a lot of fx, such as three way color corrector on every clip and a lot of After Effects Dynamic Links.
However it seems like somethings gone wrong, and the projects shouldn’t be that big.

If you haven’t already done so you can upgrade to 6.03, then open and save your project. Unless you have a ton of warp stabilizing it shouldn’t be that big and 6.03 will fix the swollen project bug.

Downloading the update now… will this make the file smaller straight away?
There is quite a lot of warp stabiliser actually, is this what has made the project so big? If so then whats the best settings to export the stabilised shots at full res and put them back into Premiere?

For shrinking project size caused by warp stabilizer data the best solution is to dynamic link the clip into AE and apply the warp stabilizer effect there.

I generally wait until the project has been cut and then apply the effects at the end of the workflow, as playback with effects enabled is a nightmare.. I hope adobe includes a master toggle switch for effects on/off in an update.
The other option is to incorporate speed grade into your workflow instead of color correction in premiere.. I believe it is much faster, but it has an odd timeline structure to me! + export import routine is tedious.
