huffy codec?
Though I’m still only in 6.5, I’m hoping I can post my query here.
D’loaded with interest this huffy codec, ’cause I’ve been hearing such great things about it–but I can’t seem to figure out how to configure Prem6.5 so that it will capture using this codec. It seems to want to use MicrosoftDV (uncompressed).
In Project Settings/Video/, I notice, beside the Compressor: input string, the Configure button is ghosted.

Thanx, for your thoughtful response to my query.
Tried your suggestion, but I’m afraid there’s no “microsoft avi” option–at least not in Prem 6.5–in the capture settings.
If I choose “video for windows,” I can indeed invoke the huffy codec–but I seem to lose my playback options, and my virtual screen, in the capture deck, is grey. When I click capture, though it operates the camera and advances through the desired video, there’s nothing captured.

Sorry, I have barely worked with 6.5. Maybe someone else who has used Premiere 6.5 and is familiar with the problem can help.

That’s kool, Aanarav. It was a long shot, anyway, posting here to the Pro list. Guess it’s time to upgrade–only I don’t really LIKE xp, which is what Pro requires . . .
