  • hue / saturation filter in FCP?

Anyone know of a good (possibly free?) plugin that will do a hue shift? Like the filter you can do in Photoshop or After Effects? I can’t seem to find the same sort of filter in FCP…

The 3 way color corrector is probably your best bet.

    Have a wonderful day.

Try the FCP built in “proc amp” filter.

Tried the proc amp filter – and it’s good to do an overall hue shift. But I was wondering if there’s anything where I can apply the shift just to a certain color? In the photoshop/AE filter you can choose to apply the effect only to a certain color range, ie: “magentas”, so that all the other colors don’t change.

With CC or CC 3-way you can use the limit effect function. Go to KenStone.net and search for the Pleasantville article. It’ll get you going on how to do this.

    All the best,

Then you’re back to the 3-Way Color Corrector. At the very bottom of the graphical CC window, drop the carat on the left side, and the Limit Effect controls are in there.

wow – that’s really cool. With a little playing around it’s actually a lot more powerful and controllable then the hue/saturation filter in photoshop/AE.

I particularily like the way you can soften the effect so it’s nice and smooth….

    Thanks everyone!
