    Hi!

Can anyone suggest me which camera I should go with? Primary editing will be on FCP, so file compatibility is an issue. The other issue is CMOS OR CCD. Both of them support studio configuration.

    I cant decide!

The JVC records Long-Gop to SD cards.

    The 370 shoots to P2.

The Panasonic shoots AVCIntra…which is a full raster, 10-bit 4:2:2 color space format.

The JVC shoots HDV (thin raster 1440×1080) or full raster XDCAm…but 8-bit and 4:2:0 color space formats.

The Panasonic will garner a better image…and far superior color space.

I had the JVC 700U, predecessor to the 790. I know own the Panasonic 370, traded the JVC in towards the 370 purchase. I am MUCH happier with the 370. Image is cleaner, you get a variety of different looks with the camera, and the AVC Inra codec is wonderful. I’ve been using that codec on my last couple of projects and it’s great. I would go for the Panasonic.
