    Hello,

I am considering purchasing an HPX-500 camera and I had a few questions I was wondering if you could answer for me:

    1. Can I use one of the FireStore portable hard drives with the HPX-500? And if so can I use it in conjunction with the P2 cards, all recording at the same time, for a back up?

    2. Can anyone tell me about the quality of recording DV50 or some other SD formats. I heard that the SD recording was not as sharp as some other camera, is this accurate?

    Thanks,
    Tom

Don’t believe you can use both at same time….

SD recording is fine… but I strongly recommend DV50 over DV25

Yes you can record to the P2 and Firestore at the same time. I have done it with a FS-3.

You will need a FS-100 to record HD and DV 50. Standard FS-4 will record DV. The HDV Firestores are specific for those cameras.

Our experience with the 500 and DVCPro50 is outstanding.
