  • HPX 3000/3700 Front mic issue???

I have a HPX 3000 and want to know if there is anyway of using a NON stereo mic as the front mic and still get audio on both channel one and two. At the moment I am just using my front mic from my old Digi Beta camera and have a 3pin to 5 pin cable to be able to plug in to the front. However in doing this I only get one channel of audio. I know the obvious answer is “Buy Stereo Mic!” But at $1500 its overkill when I only use the front mic for atmos. Is there anything in the menu? Any suggestions much appreciated 🙂

I’d guess an XLR splitter or mixer would enable you to send the signal to both channels. That said, as an editor there’s zero wrong with receiving video with a single mono audio track on one channel. As in- really no issue at all.
