I have an HP Z400 workstation (2010). I wanted to upgrade the power supply and graphics card.

    Existing PSU 475W / GPU nVidia Quadro FX3800 1GB.

600W PSU from HP did not work (should’ve). MOBO gives 4-beep codes.

I want to go to (at least) a 2GB GPU and HP compatible PSU (550W?).

    Any suggestions?

Possibly a bad power supply? What does the manual say about 4 beeps?

Non-HP PSU will not work in HP workstations, so the choice is limited to those two.

K4000 will work with the 475W PSU, perhaps even a K5000. A $250 150W GTX-760 will work as well – probably the best choice.
