So what’s your signal path from FCP?

You are going to need a capture card to do this correctly, and I would recommend the AJA HDP2 over the HD Link. Read this for details:

I have and use a DreamColor and I really like it, BUT it has to be setup properly in order for the DreamColor engine to work.

I’ve got DeckLink HD Extreme and HDLink Pro Display Port to monitor FCP signal to Dreamcolor. It works OK.
Few days ago I’ve got the calibrator and managed to calibrate the monitor. But to do this I had to switch to DVI and connect the monitor to MacPro. The APS created profile for Rec. 709 color space. My question is what happens once I connect the monitor back to display port and the HDLink. Is the profile stored in the monitor? That’s what I red in your article but I’m not sure it applies to my case.

It should be. I don’t use display port, but rather HDMI, and the profile is stored in the monitor. When you go to choose a color space, is your custom profile name available? Can you choose a color space? If not, it’s not setup properly (meaning you aren’t feeding it progressive or RGB. I don’t have experince with HDLink so I don’t know what it’s sending out).

The signal is RGB progressive.

I’m able to choose my custom profile so I guess it’s OK.
