  • How you do a batch fade for multiple clips?

Posted by John Lee on August 15, 2013 at 1:11 am

    Hello,

I like merging sports clips to make highlight videos. Using Vegas, I use the standard “click, drag into the previous clip and get a fade” effect.

If I add multiple clips to a track, is there a way to create a fade effect between all the clips without having to individually drag the 2nd clip into the 1st, the 3rd clip into the 2nd, etc?

    Thanks.

Can be done if its a crossfade you want between each clip.
Simply go to Preferences and under the Editing tab, select
Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added and set
it to 1.000 or 2.000, apply and ok…then go to options and make
sure Automatic Crossfades is selected. Now you can drag your multiple
clips to the timeline and they will all automatically have the timed
    crossfades between each of them.

Another way is to use scripts (only in Vegas Pro).
You can try to find a free script that does it, or buy a commercial one…
